Essar synchronises Salaya I power project

The first of two 600 MW units at Essar Energy's Salaya I power generation project in Gujarat has been synchronised with the transmission grid. The coal-fired Salaya I project, with a total 1,200 MW capacity, is one of the three power plants due to be fully commissioned by March 2012.The others are the Mahan I (1,200 MW) and Vadinar P2 (510 MW) projects.
