L&T bags Rs 1,635 crore order from MP power co

Engineering firm Larsen and Toubro has bagged a balance of plant (BoP) contract valued at Rs 1,635.30 crore from the Madhya Pradesh Power Generation Co for a 1,200 MW coal based power plant. The 2x600 MW project will add about 28.80 mn units to the grid every day once commissioned. The project is funded by the MP government and the Power Finance Corporation (PFC). The order will be executed on a turnkey basis and L&T's scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of the BoP system comprising coal and ash handling plants, raw water intake systems, effluent treatment plant, civil works, cooling towers, 400 kV and 200 kV switchyards and plant electricals.
