Three new units of Koradi Thermal Power Station (KTPS) are likely to be delayed further, as Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) has rejected the proposal to bring these units into operation. Maharashtra State Power Generation Co is constructing its first supercritical units at KTPS. These units will have an installed power generation capacity of 660 MW each for a total generation of 1,980 MW. They will be actual expansion of KTPS, which comprises seven units. Of the total seven units, four old units with a capacity of 105 MW have already shut down.
