NTPC Simhadri seeks land for expansion project

NTPC will invest over Rs 5,000 crore on expansion of Simhadri Super Thermal Power Station near Parawada. The power major, which has 500 MW x four units at Simhadri located at Deepanjalinagar Township, is contemplating establishing 660 MW x two units with supercritical technology.As it will be a brownfield project, the Stage-I and II of Simhadri and the new units will have common facilities.Coal linkage will be made with Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd. The construction and commissioning of new units will be completed in 52 months from the date of approval.
