The Indian Hume Pipe Co Ltd (IHP) was established in 1926 with the objective of manufacturing, popularising and marketing hume pipes and allied products. Today, the company has a wide network of more than 20 factories and over 100 projects under execution in India. IHP is actively involved in the strengthening of the nation's infrastructure in varied fields such as water supply, irrigation, drainage, power generation and rail transport. It has also executed numerous turnkey pipeline projects for water supply, sewerage and hydroelectric power generation and supply of millions of concrete sleepers for the track modernisation programme of Indian Railways. IHP has also executed projects in neighbouring countries like Nepal, Sri Lanka and Myanmar. It also has experience in the Malaysian and Iraqi markets. The company has reported a net profit of Rs 5.62 crore for the first quarter of financial year 2015. Indian Hume Pipe´s standalone revenue in 2013-14 increased by 18.3 per cent to Rs 814.17 crore while its net prof it rose 5.3 per cent to Rs 24.06 crore from Rs 22.85 crore in the previous year.
