ACME Solar Signs 400 MW FDRE Power PPA with NTPC

ACME Solar Holdings said its wholly owned subsidiary, ACME Marigold Urja, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with NTPC for a 400 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project. The agreement covers the supply of renewable electricity under NTPC’s FDRE Tranche 01 and adds to ACME Solar Holdings’ portfolio of contracted clean-energy capacity.

The project is designed to provide renewable electricity with greater flexibility and reliability, helping address the intermittent nature of solar and wind generation. Firm and dispatchable renewable energy projects can support grid stability by aligning electricity supply with demand requirements and improving the dependability of clean power for consumers.

Under the PPA, the contracted electricity will be supplied at a fixed tariff of Rs. 4.37 per unit. The Scheduled Commencement of Supply Date is June 30, 2028, while the agreement will remain effective for 25 years from the start of power supply. This gives the project a long-term contractual framework for delivering the contracted capacity.

The agreement is a domestic contract awarded by NTPC, one of India’s major public sector energy companies. ACME Solar Holdings said the arrangement would provide a defined revenue framework for the contracted capacity, subject to the terms and conditions of the PPA. The project is also aligned with the development of renewable energy solutions capable of supplying dependable electricity.

ACME Solar Holdings clarified that neither its promoter nor members of the promoter group have any interest in NTPC, and confirmed that the agreement does not constitute a related-party transaction. The 400 MW contracted capacity, fixed tariff and 25-year tenure strengthen the company’s position in India’s emerging FDRE segment as renewable capacity expansion increasingly focuses on reliable supply arrangements.
