NVVN Invites Bids for 1,889 kW Rooftop Solar Project

NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC, has invited online bids for a 1,889 kW grid-connected rooftop solar project at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI), Chandigarh. The tender has been issued through domestic competitive bidding under document number NVVN/C&M/2026-27/RE-542. NVVN plans to appoint an eligible engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for the project.

The selected contractor will undertake the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the rooftop solar system. The scope also includes operation and maintenance (O&M) for 10 years after commissioning. The contractor will be responsible for obtaining the required permits, licences and regulatory approvals, including net metering approval for the grid-connected installation.

Participation is restricted to contractors enlisted as eligible bidders with NVVN. Participants must also qualify as Class-I or Class-II local suppliers under the tender requirements. All bidders are required to conduct a mandatory site survey before submitting their offers and provide an undertaking on company letterhead confirming the visit. Failure to submit the undertaking may lead to rejection of the bid.

Each bidder must furnish an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs. 1 mn as bid security. The amount may be submitted through electronic fund transfer or an electronic bank guarantee using the National e-Governance Services platform. The available tender information does not specify a separate Performance Bank Guarantee amount, so bidders must consult the complete bidding documents for the applicable performance security provisions.

The Invitation for Bids, query deadline, bid submission period and opening of techno-commercial bids will follow the schedule published on NTPC’s electronic procurement portal. The available document does not provide the calendar dates, and no pre-bid conference is planned. Bidders have been directed to check eprocurentpc.nic.in for the tender schedule and updates. The procurement combines rooftop infrastructure development with a decade-long maintenance obligation, placing responsibility for implementation, compliance and continued system operation on the appointed EPC contractor.
