Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) in the face of stiff competition under international competitive bidding, has bagged a work order for the country’s largest capacity hydropower project of 2,880 MW Dibang multipurpose project in Arunachal Pradesh. Major equipment for the project will be manufactured by the company’s plants at Bhopal, Bengaluru, Jhansi and Rudrapur. Significantly, BHEL with over five decades of experience, is firmly established as a leader in India's hydro segment. It has a portfolio of over 500 hydroelectric sets with a cumulative capacity of over 32,000 MW in India and abroad.
