HSIL to take up capacity expansion worth Rs 350 cr

Sanitaryware firm  HSIL has lined up a capex of Rs 350 crore in the next 30 months for capacity expansion of its sanitaryware, faucet, and container glass plants. It will increase the capacity of its ceramic tiles plant from 28 lakh pieces to  50 lakh pieces in three phases. The company has plants in Andhra Pradesh and Haryana. It is also investing in expanding capacity in the container glass plant from 1,025 tonne to 1,150 tonne a day at a cost of Rs 60 crore. The faucet capacity expansion would be in two phases, raising current capacity from 3 lakh pieces to 6 lakh pieces by March 2011, and a new plant in Gujarat would be set up by April 2012.
