Grundfos India, a global leader in advanced pump solutions and water technology, offers a range of hydro solutions for high-rise buildings. High-rise buildings cater to commercial and residential purposes, and demands water, which needs to be pumped across various points through the building. Given this requirement, pumping water at the right pressure is critical to avoid water and energy loss. The need of the hour is intelligent, energy-efficient pumps that can monitor and manage the challenging flow at varying pressure requirements through the day and night.Hydro solutions for high-risesGrundfos India offers a range of hydro solutions for high-rise buildings. Hydro MPC booster: This has a CU 352 controller. These boosters are customisable and can manage the pressure with varying flow.Hydro Multi-E pressure booster: In this intelligent solution, the control of the system lies within the pumps, which are able to communicate with each other. Since each pump can function as the controlling unit, there is full redundancy if a sensor or pump should fail. Hydro Multi B booster: It is equipped with at least one speed-controlled pump. It has lesser footprint compared to flow and head, and takes up less space in building. Hydro Multi-S booster: It is packed with Grundfos’ CM and CR pumps connected to it on a common base frame, a control cabinet and an integrated controller. Features of CU 352 Controller Constant pressure: By continuously adapting the speed of the pumps to the flow demand, the required pressure is kept constant despite of fluctuations in flow, thus  ensuring the consumer the highest comfort.Easy to operate: It is equipped with a big colour screen that communicates in plain text and with intuitive icons. The start-up wizard makes commissioning quick and easy. Energy reducing: The CU 352 uses the pump curve data to determine the most efficient speed and number of pumps to meet the desired flow and pressure.Application optimised functions: The CU 352 is filled with special features that ensures that the system performs perfect in any application.Monitoring: The CU 352 incorporates a log feature that makes it possible to monitor the performance of the system. The logged data can be shown on the large colour screen or exported to a PC for further analysis. Monitoring the performance makes it possible to react on problems before they occur and give valuable data about changes in demand that could be caused by a pipe burst.Communication: The CU 352 controller communicates via the most common Field-Bus protocols via optional communication cards. Besides that, the built in Ethernet connection makes it possible to access the controller via a web browser to see the status and modify the settings of the controller. Redundancy: It is possible to assign one or more standby pumps with CU 352. These will take over in case of failure on the other pumps. It is also possible to have an extra primary sensor installed and the CU 352 will then continuously monitor the sensors for discrepancy. Craftsmanship: To achieve the optimal hydraulic performance not only the pump but all wetted materials must be manufactured to the highest standards. The manifolds are made in an extruding process that eliminates dead corners and reduces noise, friction loss and bacteria growth in the pipes.Smart solutionsIn comparison to traditional singular booster systems, zone divided boosters are significantly more energy-efficient for water distribution in high-rise buildings. In zone divided booster system, the building is divided into pressure zones of 10 floors or less with a booster supplying each zone from the basement though dedicated risers, ensuring equal water pressure across all levels of the building. Besides booster systems, Grundfos’ iSolutions acts as an auxiliary service that augments the overall efficiency. iSolutions can monitor and collect data on the flow and pressure of the water. The analysis of this data will help regulate the water pressure in the building. (Communication by the management of the company)
