Once again this year, ENGINEERING NEWS-RECORD (ENR) associated with CW to recognise the Top International Design Firms and Top International Contractors at the CONSTRUCTION WORLD Global Awards. ENR is well-known for its ranking of the top 225 international design firms and the top 250 international contractors. These rankings are original research, conducted by the ENR staff and based on surveys filled out by hundreds of design and construction companies around the world. The firms are ranked by revenue earned exclusively in the construction industry – an objective measure of their success in the marketplace. In ENR’s terminology, “international” refers to the revenue earned outside the firm’s home country. The rankings have been published for almost 40 years, appearing first in December of 1979. Even privately held firms report their revenue specifically to appear in these rankings, which are widely used by owners planning construction projects as an objective source of data about companies around the world. The accomplishments of these firms were recognised to achieve these rankings on ENR’s 2019 lists and those who were present at the awards ceremony in New Delhi were honored for making it to the list.
