The government has allocated Rs.85.33 billion to bolster connectivity in the North Eastern region through rail, air and road projects aimed at narrowing the infrastructure gap and stimulating economic growth. Rail projects spanning 1909 km, worth Rs.819.41 billion, are underway, with 482 km already operational. The Ministry of Civil Aviation's RCS-UDAN initiative has notably improved air connectivity, activating airports in Rupsi, Tezu, Tezpur, and others, adding 64 new routes.
