Apart from Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), the HCC-KEC JV has been awarded a contract for the construction of Chennai Metro Phase-2 for Line-5 of 47-km. The JV was the lowest bidder for the 11.61-kilometer Puzhuthivakkam-Sholinganallur stretch, which covers 11 stations at Line-5 of the extreme southern end. Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) issued a request for proposals for the building of this package in November 2020, with an undisclosed budget and a 36-month timeline.
