Karimnagar city in Telangana will soon be a full-fledged smart city. As a part of the smart city project, the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation (KMC) has presented the Detailed Project Report to the central and state governments along with development proposals worth Rs.18 bn. The project will be completed in three phases. A total of 35 km of road has been constructed and a total of 11 road projects are nearing completion. As part of this project, a scenic road, LED lighting, pedestrian and cyclist-only pathways will be built for the Swarna devalayam.
