Under the staunch leadership of its Managing Director Vinayak Deshpande, Tata Projects recently bagged among the largest single value infrastructure projects in India - redevelopment of the existing Bombay Development Department Chawl at Worli. The consortium comprising of Tata Projects, Capacit'e Infraprojects and CITIC Group has been awarded the Rs 117.44-billion project by MHADA. <br /> <br /> The 90-year-old project, which until now is known to be one of the oldest British era developments in Mumbai, involves construction across 26 million sq ft, to be carried out in five phases over a period of eight years. Around 10,000 employment opportunities is expected to be generated through this project. <br /> <br /> For Deshpande 'This win is a testimony to Tata Projects focus on developing high quality social infrastructure, while maintaining high standards of safety.' Among the biggest redevelopment projects in India, under Deshpande's guidance, it will clearly serve as a model for other chawl development projects.<br />
