Low-carbon technology launched

For India's cement industy, a low-carbon technology roadmap has been launched to cut the carbon footprint whilst meeting the growing demand for building materials. The aim is to reduce carbon emissions by 45 per cent by 2050 through measures such as higher clinker substitution, alternative fuels, enhancing energy efficiency and investing in newer technologies.

The cement industry developed this plan in collaboration with the International Energy Agency, the CII Green Business Centre and the National Council for Cement and Building Materials.
