Our target customers shall be both from the end-user and the rental segment

- Souma Ray, Director, Haulotte India

Haulotte has been a regular participant in BAUMA across the world. The company has been an exhibitor at BAUMA India since its first edition in 2011, and has participated in all the three exhibitions held till date. This year too, it will be present at BAUMA CONEXPO 2016 at Gurgaon, and will be located at Outdoor Stall No. 840. Souma Ray, Director, Haulotte India, shares more on the company´s expectations from the expo.

What are your expectations from BAUMA CONEXPO INDIA this year?
This is the only international show that we consider an appropriate platform to exhibit our products. We expect that customers, from both the end-user sector and the rental segment, who will be visiting our stall, will be made familiar to the latest technological advances that we have done in our range of aerial work platforms and telehandlers. We, at Haulotte, believe in our global principal of ´Customer Proximity´ and stand committed to the same in India as well.

Introduce us to your products and offerings that will be on display at the event.
For BAUMA CONEXPO 2016, we will be exhibiting our latest generation of rough terrain articulated boom, vertical mast, electric scissor and telehandler. Each variant has its own USP, but one of the many distinguishing notable feature is the lower ground control box of our articulating boom. We have incorporated the Haulotte Diagnostic screen in the panel, which will enable users to get all details of performance and related parameters at the touch of a button. Further, any fault diagnosis can also be done on this screen, which gives a pictorial description of the nature and location of the fault. This tremendously helps in reducing the downtime of the machine, and any intervention can be done in the shortest possible time.

What are your strategies to generate sales from the event?
We at Haulotte, always listen to our customers and constantly innovate our products to make it more user-friendly, and in line with the latest technology. This is the reason that instead of continuing to manufacture machines with old technology - which is common among competition - we aim to be different and more proactive to the needs of our customers. We have, since the last few years, been engaged in incorporating newer, state-of-the-art technology in our machines to make them more dependable and user-friendly. These new generation of machines are technically and operationally much ahead in comparison to our closest renowned competitors. And, this is what we will showcase for our valued customers in India during BAUMA CONEXPO in December.

Tell us about your target buyers at the expo?
Access equipment are broadly classified into ´People Lifting Equipment´ - push around, scisssor lifts, vertical mast and boom lifts (articulated and telescopic) and ´Material Lifting Equipment´- telehandlers. The usage of access equipment is universal and not specific to any particular sector. Wherever there is a need to work safely at heights, access equipment is required - be it hotels, malls, hospitals, warehouses, the manufacturing industry, facility management, construction, and mining - access equipment are required. Hence, such equipment are used either by direct purchases done by the end-user or by renting them from various rental companies in the country. Thus, our target customers will be both from the end-user and the rental segment.

How do you view the current construction and construction equipment market in India?
Post the slump in demand that was witnessed during the global financial crisis, and thereafter in the years that followed during the recovery phase - so, since the last two years, the construction and construction equipment sector has been witnessing a revival. Added to that is the impetus being given by the government towards development of infrastructure in the country. We are hopeful of a strong performance of the sector in the years to come.
