Smaller developers won nearly half of all road-building contracts given out by the NHAI in FY2017-18. The biggest contract winners were large companies such as Dilip Buildcon (Rs 187.7 bn), IRB Infrastructure Developers (Rs 89 bn) and Ashoka Buildcon (Rs 55 bn). However, nearly 90 other small developers, including HG Infra Engineering, Madhucon Projects, J Kumar Infraprojects, Gammon India and a host of JVs by Monte Carlo and PNC Infratech mopped up 48 per cent of bids awarded in the year.<br />
