Andhra Pradesh to Achieve 100 Per Cent Housing by 2029

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said the State’s NDA government would achieve 100 per cent housing by 2029. He was speaking in Tenali after laying the foundation stone with Union Minister for Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan for 300,000 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) 2.0.

Naidu said the Centre had initially sanctioned 75,000 houses to Andhra Pradesh under the regular quota. Following a special request, the Union Government increased the allocation to 300,000 houses. Chouhan had also agreed to sanction another 300,000 houses after completion of the current batch, along with an additional 300,000 houses next year, taking the total allocation to 900,000 houses.

The foundation stone was laid at Burripalem in the Tenali constituency. Naidu said the State government had renewed its commitment to constructing quality houses for poor families and would introduce 3D concrete printing technology on a pilot basis at the site.

The houses built using the technology were expected to keep indoor temperatures at least 8 degrees Celsius below outside temperatures, improving comfort for residents. Following the successful completion of the pilot homes, the government plans to construct 5,000 houses using the same technology, with the aim of making Andhra Pradesh a model for 3D technology-based housing.

Chouhan said Andhra Pradesh was emerging as one of the country’s leading States and assured continued central support. He said the Centre would sanction another 300,000 houses before the ongoing construction was completed and provide a further 300,000 houses. He also highlighted annual assistance of Rs. 6,000 for each eligible farmer under the PM-KISAN scheme. The Andhra Pradesh government provides an additional Rs. 14,000 under Annadata Sukhibhava, taking total annual support to Rs. 20,000.
