CIDCO nods realty projects near Navi Mumbai airport with height NOC

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) decided to approve real estate projects having a height Non-Objection Certificate from the Airport Authority of India (AAI), in a move that will encourage real estate development in the areas near the forthcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport.

These areas are under the purview of the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA). Through this, real estate developers will conduct constructions up to the approved height specified in the NOCs declared by the AAI.

Sanjay Mukherjee, vice chairman & managing director, CIDCO, told the media that CIDCO would shortly award commencement certificates and occupancy certificates to developers who have valid Non-Objection Certificates for height. It will eliminate the difficulties in several project developments in Navi Mumbai and the NAINA region and further spur the expansion of this region. Likewise, concerned developers and citizens will also get relief from this decision.

Real estate developers anticipate the decision to assist an increase in economic activity in the area.

CIDCO is developing across 1,160 hectares of land in Panvel taluka of Raigad district around the Navi Mumbai International Airport. Restrictions were imposed on the height of numerous constructions in Navi Mumbai and the NAINA region, and this had impeded the development of many projects despite getting a Non-Objection Certificate from CIDCO, as a planning authority.

Regarding this, Mukherjee initiated efforts to fix the issue with the help of AAI and Navi Mumbai International Airport Ltd., the -concessionaire firm developing the airport.

Numerous meetings were conducted among the representatives of Navi Mumbai International Airport Ltd., CIDCO and AAI. After which, it was decided to issue a Commencement Certificate and Occupancy Certificate for construction permission to those developers who have got a Non-Objection Certificate from the Airport Authority of India and which is valid.

CIDCO has already spurred the implementation of the NAINA project that will develop over 371 sq km of land around the Navi Mumbai International Airport and include 175 villages of Raigad.

To avoid the haphazard development in the neighbouring areas of Navi Mumbai International Airport, the town planning authority has offered this project.
