Properties of tax defaulters sealed by Delhi authorities?

On Tuesday, 12 March, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) sealed eight properties in Shahdara's south zone as part of its crackdown on property tax defaulters. According to the civic body, the owners of these sealed properties had been evading a total tax amounting to Rs 13.6 million. The corporation's Assessment and Collection department took action by sealing four properties each in Gandhi Nagar and Lalita Park. In a statement, the civic body indicated that strict measures would be taken against property tax defaulters across various wards. The statement further advised property taxpayers to settle their outstanding property tax dues by 31 March 2024 to avoid similar actions in the future. .
