BASF inaugurates technical lab for fuel and lubricant solutions in Navi Mumbai to cater to South Asia

BASF India, a subsidiary of BASF SE, has inaugurated its new technical lab for fuel and lubricant solutions at its Innovation Campus Asia Pacific, located in Navi Mumbai. As an integral part of BASF’s global and regional innovation network, the facility will deliver modern lubricant formulations and high performance fluids for automotive and industrial applications.

The application lab will enable global and regional BASF teams to work closely with local customers in testing and formulation optimisation for a diverse range of industries in South Asia. It will mainly focus on oil packages for turbine, hydraulic and compressor, as well as fluids for latest-generation tractors. With the transition towards engines with better fuel-efficiency, the development of efficient fluids and lubricants helps comply with increasingly stringent regulations and enhance lifetime of the complex machinery.

The global business unit Fuel and Lubricant Solutions is a leading supplier to the transportation and mineral oil industries worldwide and part of BASF's Performance Chemicals division. Offerings cover fuel performance packages, refinery additives, polyisobutenes, engine coolants and brake fluids as well as lubricant additives, compounded lubricants, synthetic base stocks and components for metalworking fluids. The business unit has its main facilities in Ludwigshafen, Germany, Cincinnati and Florham Park in the US, Nanjing and Shanghai in China, as well as Sao Paulo, Brazil. Research and development is mainly driven out of Ludwigshafen, Germany, Tarrytown, US, and Shanghai, China.
