Construction industry in a need to adopt a combination of technologies

Execution of projects in a timely manner is the biggest concern for developers today. After RERA, which emphasises the timely completion of projects, the construction players are looking at adopting customised modern technologies that could meet project requirements.

There is a realisation in the industry that technology-driven construction methodology and digital practices can effectively be deployed to achieve project targets on time and cost. Data is the game changer and having the right data at the right time helps in faster decision-making and reducing human error. But the challenge is to integrate digital data through all the stages of the project execution process.

Both private and public developers are continuously exploring new construction technologies to improve the strength and safety of the buildings. Technologies like AI, drones, BIM, etc offer advantages such as minimal labour requirement, higher earthquake resistance, lower maintenance and faster completion of projects.

On Day2, The Construction Summit had a session on- ‘Most compelling technological interventions’, where panellists had discussions around few topics like--what digital solutions have been implemented over the last few years, and whether they are bearing the results as per expectations?
