MSME Ministry Expands Tech Centres And Advanced Skill Training

To strengthen technical and skill development support for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), the Ministry of MSME has established nine new Technology Centres under the Technology Centre Systems Programme (TCSP), in addition to the existing 18 centres. For 2025–26, Rs 200 million has been allocated for the establishment and operation of these centres.

Together, the newly established centres and the 18 existing Technology Centres trained more than 328,000 participants in 2024–25, including MSME entrepreneurs and employees.

The Technology Centres have conducted specialised skill-development programmes in advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and the Internet of Things. These modules have also been integrated into regular long-term and short-term training courses to ensure that MSME skill programmes remain aligned with emerging industry needs.

This information was provided by the Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.
