Innocoat Achieves AkzoNobel Interpon D3020 Approved Applicator Status

Innocoat Systems has become the first company in India to achieve Interpon D3020 Approved Applicator status from global paints and coatings leader AkzoNobel. The recognition gives Innocoat a competitive edge, reflecting its commitment to delivering superior quality, durability, and sustainability in architectural powder coatings.

The accreditation allows Innocoat to offer customers access to AkzoNobel’s hyperdurable Interpon D3020 range, engineered for extreme environments with exceptional gloss and colour retention. The system provides a sustainable alternative to liquid PVDF2 coatings and enables project warranties of up to 30 years.

With a decade-long partnership with AkzoNobel, Innocoat operates three advanced facilities in Peenya and Kunigal, coating more than 1,000 tonnes of aluminium each month for applications spanning real estate to high-spec transport infrastructure.

“We continuously explore new technologies and sustainable processes to enhance quality, efficiency, and performance,” said Dilip Kumar, Managing Director, Innocoat. “Achieving D3020 Approved Applicator status from AkzoNobel is an important milestone for us, and one that reinforces our ability to meet the most demanding customer expectations.”

Alongside Interpon D3020, Innocoat extensively uses Interpon D2525, a superdurable series with low environmental impact, zero VOCs, and an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) to support sustainable choices. It also offers Interpon D metallic and anodic finishes, delivering natural metallic looks with strong UV and weather resistance.

“The D3020 range offers maximum gloss and colour retention, even in harsh conditions,” said Mohan Dhandapani, General Manager, Innocoat. “It supports our mission to provide advanced alternatives that outperform traditional systems.”

Şirvan Canıtez, Commercial Director South Asia, AkzoNobel Powder Coatings, added: “It is our joint responsibility to continually innovate to meet market needs. Innocoat brings deep expertise of India’s architectural market, and we are proud to support their growth with sustainable, high-performance finishes.”
