Construction World Leadership Summit Exclusive

Gajendra Haldea, Advisor, Infrastructure, Planning Commission, stated categorically at Construction World Leadership Summit, in Delhi, that, " the target of US$ 1 trillion investment into infrastructure will not be achieved," thus putting at rest all speculation as to how GDP growth target of the twelfth plan will be met. The fact that the $1 trillion investment would not materialise means that the GDP grow projected too would get affected. Haldea was speaking to the delegates of the Construction World Leadership Summit at Hotel The LaLit in Delhi in a special session. Earlier during the day, Anil Swarup, Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, stated that the Project Monitoring Group had cleared projects worth Rs 4 lac crore and further added that fuel supply agreements for 70,000 MW of the total 78,000 MW were already signed. He clarified that for the projects cleared, all clearances had been obtained including environmental and FSAs. The summit has been organised by ASAPP Media Information Group, publishers of Construction World, Infrastructure Today, Equipment India, Power Today etc.
