Himachal drops Rohtang ropeway project

The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet has taken a decision to cancel the construction of the Palchan-Rohtang Pass ropeway project in Kullu district to protect the livelihood of taxi drivers in Palchan tourism area. The proposed ropeway was planned to transport around 9,000 visitors between the two destinations every day to de-congest the Manali-Leh road during the peak season May and July.
