Airtel Expands 5G Footprint Across UP East With Over 4300 New Sites

Bharti Airtel has deployed more than 4300 new 5G sites across UP East in the past 12 months, significantly strengthening its network presence across the region. The deployment forms part of a large scale expansion undertaken to enhance capacity and coverage across urban and rural markets. The company said the programme builds a resilient digital backbone to support growing data demand.

The expansion was carried out across 48 districts of the UP East circle and reached 34 million (mn) people in urban centres, growth towns and remote villages. By adding an average of 12 new sites every day the company said it has accelerated the roll out of high speed connectivity and improved service consistency for work, education, entertainment and digital payments. The enhanced footprint aims to benefit citizens, students, micro entrepreneurs, enterprises and government institutions.

Airtel indicated that major urban centres such as Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya and Jhansi will directly benefit from the expanded network. The company said the rollout will enable seamless access to high speed 5G services across markets, supporting everyday digital needs and economic activity. Management added that UP East remains a key focus area and that the company is committed to sustained investments in advanced network infrastructure and superior customer experiences.

To empower customers with uninterrupted digital access across the circle Airtel introduced a fully unlimited 28 day data plan that offers unlimited 4G and 5G data around the clock along with unlimited calls in its Rs399 recharge pack for smartphone users. The offering has been designed for seamless streaming, studying, working and staying connected without concerns about data limits. The company said sustained investments in network density across rural and semi urban villages, highways, border areas and key economic corridors will ensure robust, future ready connectivity even in high mobility and high usage zones.
