Covestro Showcases Material Innovation at CHINAPLAS

Covestro is showcasing “The Material Effect” at CHINAPLAS 2026 in Shanghai from 21 to 24 April, presenting advanced material solutions for emerging applications including flying cars, humanoid robots, data centres and medical wearables.

The display is organised around three themes – Advancing Intelligence Frontiers, Elevating Smart Living, and Empowering Connected & Trusted Healthcare – highlighting how material innovation is supporting new industries, smarter lifestyles and accessible healthcare.

For next-generation mobility, Covestro is presenting solutions for eVTOL aircraft and drones, including lightweight polycarbonate windshields, battery safety foams and coating technologies designed to improve safety and efficiency.

The company is also showcasing materials for humanoid robots, including impact-resistant structural components, flame-retardant battery enclosures, sensor housings and flexible TPU films for tactile sensing.

In smart living applications, Covestro is highlighting materials for data centres, consumer electronics and satellite broadband equipment, focusing on flame retardancy, structural strength and reduced carbon emissions.

Healthcare solutions on display include materials for diagnostics devices, injection pens and wearable devices, supporting precision treatment, easier recycling and user comfort.

The showcase underlines Covestro’s focus on sustainable, high-performance materials aligned with evolving industrial and consumer demands.
