GNFC Awards Rs 3.6 Billion Ammonium Nitrate Plant Order

Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GNFC) has awarded a contract to Toyo Engineering India Private Limited for the installation of a new 480 tonnes per day, or 163,200 tonnes per annum, Ammonium Nitrate–II plant on a lump-sum engineering, procurement and construction (LEPC) basis. The order, valued at about Rs 3.6 billion, will be executed using process technology and licensing from Spain-based INCRO, S.A.

With the adoption of INCRO’s technology, GNFC is set to expand its existing ammonium nitrate production capacity by approximately 94 per cent. The company said the investment will strengthen its position in the domestic market, support the government’s “Make in India” initiative, and reinforce its commitment to environmental conservation through the adoption of modernised and efficient downstream operations.
