Hindustan Zinc’s HZAPL Plant Secures Triple ISO Certification

Hindustan Zinc has secured internationally recognised ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications for its Hindustan Zinc Alloys Private Limited (HZAPL) facility in Udaipur. The achievement reinforces the company’s focus on manufacturing excellence through globally benchmarked systems for quality management, environmental responsibility and occupational health and safety.

The certifications were awarded following a comprehensive assessment of HZAPL’s management systems, operational controls and compliance practices. The milestone strengthens the facility’s ability to drive continuous improvement, enhance process discipline and meet evolving customer requirements.

Commenting on the achievement, Amarendu Prakash, CEO, Hindustan Zinc, said, “Manufacturing excellence is defined not only by the quality of the final product, but also by the strength and integrity of the systems behind it. The achievement of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications reflects our commitment to embedding quality, environmental responsibility and safety across every stage of production.”

Established to strengthen Hindustan Zinc’s value-added products portfolio, the HZAPL facility manufactures specialised zinc-based alloys, including HZDA 3 and HZDA 5, catering to industrial and precision applications. The facility also develops customised alloy compositions based on customer, process and performance requirements.

Both HZDA 3 and HZDA 5 are certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards, further supporting their quality and consistency. With advanced manufacturing technologies, stringent quality controls and environmental safeguards, HZAPL combines Hindustan Zinc’s metallurgical expertise with customer requirements to deliver high-performance alloy solutions.

The certification adds to Hindustan Zinc’s portfolio of refined zinc, lead, silver, specialised zinc alloys and low-carbon zinc offerings such as EcoZen. The company said the globally recognised frameworks will help improve operational resilience, manufacturing consistency and customer value.

The triple ISO certification reflects Hindustan Zinc’s integrated approach towards responsible manufacturing, with quality, resource efficiency, environmental stewardship and employee wellbeing embedded into its operating systems. The milestone strengthens the company’s position as a trusted provider of future-ready metal solutions.
