MOL PLUS Makes First Investment In Indian VC Fund

MOL PLUS CO, the corporate venture capital arm of Japanese shipping major Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), has invested an undisclosed amount in Theia Ventures Fund 1, marking its first investment in an India-focused venture capital fund.

In a statement, the company said the investment reflects MOL PLUS’ strategy to engage with India’s growing startup ecosystem and support innovation aligned with its long-term business and sustainability objectives.

Theia Ventures Fund 1 invests exclusively in Indian startups, with a focus on energy transition, deep technology, material science and advanced manufacturing sectors. The fund targets early-stage companies developing technologies with the potential to drive industrial transformation and support low-carbon growth.
