Torrent Group to Build 800-Bed Hospital in South Gujarat

Torrent Group’s philanthropic arm, UNM Foundation, will invest around Rs. 9.1 bn to develop an 800-bed hospital and a 150-seat medical college in Vyara, in Gujarat’s Tapi district. Kohima Board Discusses Road Restoration and Waste Management

The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting in Kohima reviewed road restoration, waste management, water supply and other development issues on September 22. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner B Henok Buchem, with Advisor for School Education Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome attending as DPDB chairman. The Board agreed to recommend road maintenance proposals under National Highway-29 to the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation. NDMC Approves New Waste Rules, Fixes Monthly Charges and Spot Fines

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has approved new Solid Waste Management bye-laws that make monthly user charges and penalties mandatory for waste generators across residential, commercial and industrial establishments in Lutyens’ Delhi. The rules were approved at a council meeting on Monday and will be notified by the Union Home Ministry.
