Deadline is set for 2019 to complete operational part; aviation ministry asks AAI to hire consultants to suggest ways to revive Juhu airport. The ministry is working on a two-pronged strategy -to create slots as they are alarmed at the capacity constraints in Mumbai airport. Reports suggest that the rest of the infrastructure can come eventually and the airport should be made operational first. Mumbai airport manages at present a maximum of 50 aircraft movements each hour.
