AAI has taken action to ensure that the Dabolim airport at Panaji functions in compliance with all environmental norms. Earlier, the Goa State Pollution Control Board had complained about the environmental pollution and sewage overflow at the airport. The Goa airport is now managing municipal solid waste without causing any pollution to the surroundings. The recently installed sewage treatment plant, based on the aerobic principle with carbon filter, sand filter and chlorine-dosing is in use and the treated water is tested regularly at the government lab.
