Arunachal Gets 21 New Roads And Bridges From BRO

Arunachal Pradesh Governor K.T. Parnaik has praised the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) for completing 21 vital infrastructure projects in the state, significantly enhancing road connectivity in remote border regions.

The completed works include four strategically important roads—Assam Hill to Lungro GG, Lungrola to Vasu Rok in Tawang, Lee to Huri in Kra Daadi, and Tama to Taksing in Upper Subansiri—as well as 17 new bridges across challenging terrain.

The Governor participated virtually in the inauguration of 50 BRO infrastructure projects across Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Sikkim, Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Arunachal Pradesh, which was led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday.

Governor Parnaik emphasised the strategic importance of the new infrastructure, stating that these projects will not only strengthen national security but also drive socio-economic development across Arunachal Pradesh’s far-flung border areas. He added that this progress aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Viksit Bharat” or Developed India.

Marking BRO’s 66th Raising Day, the Governor also commended the efforts of its regional divisions—Project Vartak, Project Arunank, Project Brahmank, and Project Udayak—for their dedication to high-quality infrastructure delivery in the region.

He congratulated units recognised with ‘Awards of Excellence’ for 2024–25:
1. 752 BRTF, Roing (Project Udayak) received the Best Task Force Award
2. 1446 BCC, Anini (Project Udayak) was named Best Bridge Construction Company
3. CMIR 761 BTTF, Yingkiong (Project Brahmank) earned the Best Medical Establishment Award

The Governor also conveyed the gratitude of the people of Arunachal Pradesh to the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister for prioritising the region’s development and fostering stronger national integration.
