The Indian government has announced simplified guidelines to facilitate the operation of seaplanes, with the objective of improving regional connectivity and promoting tourism. These new norms are aimed at reducing the complexities involved in operating seaplanes, thereby encouraging more players to enter the market.

The updated guidelines cover various aspects, including regulatory approvals, water aerodrome infrastructure, and coordination with local authorities. The government has made it easier for operators to secure necessary clearances, which is expected to accelerate the launch of new seaplane routes.
