Gujarat government would invoke provisions of Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act (PASA) to stop illegal mining in the state. The government has also introduced Mine Mineral Audit system and initiated e-delivery, e-weighbridge, e-royalty, bar coding and hologram system in the mining sector to reduce corruption and increase efficiency. In the year 2012, the government granted lease for the mining of 1,093,994 tonne minerals from a government land in Jamnagar district and 550,000 tonne in Rajkot district.
