Punjab's Patiala-Bhadson road to be widened to 33 ft

Patiala-Bhadson road in Punjab will be widened up to 33 feet. The State government has decided in this regard and the widening of the road work would commence in November next. Public Works Department Minister, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, said the State government has given approval for the widening of this 4 kilometre stretch from its present 18 feet to 33 feet.

The Minister said this project would be completed with the cost of Rs. 6.40 crore. He said the government is focusing on providing better road network in the urban areas in a strategic way. He said under the leadership of Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal Punjab is all set to become the state with the best road connectivity in the country.

said 175 km road from Sambhu-Jalandhar with the cost of Rs. 1,500 crore, 44 km from Bhogpur-Mukerian with Rs. 300 crore, 102 km from Pathankot to Amritsar with Rs. 800 crore and 78 km from Ludhiana to Talwandi worth Rs. 479 crore have also been under construction.
