Ganga Lays Foundation Stone for Suchani-Mandal College Road

Jammu and Kashmir MLA Chandra Prakash Ganga inaugurated construction of a road connecting Suchani with Government Degree College (GDC) in Mandal on October 14. The project is being implemented under the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) schemes at a total cost of Rs. 80 mn.

Of the sanctioned amount, Rs. 45 mn has been allocated under NABARD, while Rs. 35 mn has been approved through the CRIF scheme. The road is intended to improve connectivity between Purmandal Block and Vijaypur Block and will also provide access to the local cremation ground.

The project is expected to make travel to GDC Mandal easier for students from surrounding areas. A handout said students had previously been required to travel to Jammu and Samba to pursue higher education, creating additional travel demands for families in the region.

Ganga said improved roads support rural development by facilitating access to education, healthcare and employment opportunities. He directed the concerned department to maintain construction quality and ensure that the work was completed without compromising prescribed standards.

The inauguration was attended by BJP Jammu and Kashmir Executive Member Jai Ram, district secretary Narendra Pratap Singh and Mandal president Narendra Singh. Former District Development Council member Avtar Singh, former Block Development Council member Yogeshwar Singh, Mandal general secretaries Vikrant Jamwal and Vicky Sharma, former sarpanches Sindoor Singh and Anil Sharma, senior BJP workers and other local residents were also present.
