The Odisha government has announced an accelerated infrastructure programme that will include construction of an Outer Ring Road (ORR) for Cuttack and the six-laning of National Highway 55 (NH-55). The announcement forms part of a broader push to strengthen regional connectivity and manage urban congestion. The ORR is intended to provide a high-capacity bypass around the city while the upgrade of NH-55 will enhance intercity links.
