PMRDA to Build 50 Km Concrete Road Along Pune Metro 3

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has announced plans to construct a 50-kilometre cement-concrete road parallel to Pune Metro Line 3, linking Maan in Hinjewadi with Shivajinagar.
This new corridor will play a vital role in improving travel between Pune’s IT hub and the city centre, aiming to resolve persistent issues such as traffic congestion, surface degradation, and poor drainage along the current route.
The authority has opted for cement-concrete over conventional asphalt to improve the road’s durability and reduce long-term maintenance expenses. The project is aligned with the ongoing development of Metro Line 3 and is intended to foster a more integrated urban transport system.
Once completed, the road is expected to enhance last-mile connectivity, reduce vehicle wear and tear, and support economic growth in the Hinjewadi–Shivajinagar corridor. PMRDA will work closely with multiple agencies to ensure smooth coordination and timely delivery of the project.
