UP Plans Rs 11.11 Billion Road And Bridge Projects

The Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department has finalised a comprehensive infrastructure plan involving the construction of ten major bridges across the state. The initiative, rolled out under the ‘Setu Bandhan’ scheme, is supported by Rs 11.11 billion in funding from the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF).

According to an official statement issued on Wednesday, the project includes the development of Rail Over Bridges (ROBs) and Rail Under Bridges (RUBs) aimed at improving road-rail connectivity and easing traffic congestion at key points.

The Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation will be responsible for executing and supervising the construction of these ten infrastructure projects. The move is part of the state's broader effort to upgrade critical transport links and strengthen its civil infrastructure under central support.
