Under the aegis of Gati Shakti campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid emphasis on connecting all the multi-nodal agencies under a single roof. Launched on 21st October 2021, the aim of this initiative is to accelerate the process of development by removing the unnecessary hurdles which leads to the project delays. Therefore, right from the land acquisition to getting administrative approvals Gatishakti for any project will act as the most reliable master key for removing the procedural obstacles. Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail is a state and central government venture which has shouldered the responsibility of setting-up the metro rail network in different cities of Uttar Pradesh i.e. Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Gorakhpur, Varanasi etc. Right now Uttar Pradesh Metro is constructing a metro network in Kanpur and Agra. The 21 km long metro network from Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport to Munshipulia is already operational in Lucknow. The amended DPR for the construction of 11.8 km network i.e Charbagh to Vasantkunj has been submitted to state government for further approval. In Kanpur, the nine kilometer priority corridor from IIT to Motijheel was inaugurated by Honorable PM Shri Narendra Modi on 28th December 2022. The construction work on the Agra Metro Project is in progress and its priority corridor is slated to be completed by December 2023. UPMRC has completed the two metro projects within the stipulated deadline. The Lucknow and Kanpur Metro Rail Project are the best examples of infrastructural excellence. The priority section of Lucknow Metro was completed within a record time three years. It was fastest among the contemporary metro projects. The entire stretch of Lucknow Metro Rail project was completed in 4.5 years and Kanpur Metro Rail Project was completed in 25 months. These milestones were achieved with the support of state government and central government. The land acquisition hurdles, administrative procedural delays and laws hindering the progress of the projects were solved with the help of government agencies. The state and central government much before the launch of Gati Shakti have already been playing a vital role in expediting the momentum of the projects. The support system provided by the government agencies has been instrumental in the timely completion of the aforementioned projects. Even before the launch of Gati Shakti campaign, some aspects of this drive had already been implemented at the policy level. But with the launch of Gati Shakti campaign, the coordination and synchronicity needed for the campaign will be strengthened further. UPMRC has a legacy of setting new benchmarks and achieving new milestones. With the formation of single umbrella policy like Gati Shakti, it will be easier for UPMRC to implement its plans without facing any hassles. In the current scenario, Lucknow Metro is going to witness its network extension from Charbagh to Vasant-Kunj. This 11.16 km metro network will pass through the most congested areas of the region. The second phase of Lucknow Metro complies very well with the Gati Shakti campaign. The East-West Corridor-2 from Charbagh to Vasant Kunj will have total route length of 11.165 km. Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd’s proposed East-West Corridor from Charbagh to Vasant Kunj part of Lucknow Metro’s second phase was submitted to the Government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP) after updation. The total route length of East-West Corridor from Charbagh to Vasant Kunj will be 11.165 km of which elevated length will be 4.286 km while underground length will be 6.879 km. The total number of stations in this corridor will be 12 comprising seven underground and five elevated stations. The estimated time of completion of this proposed corridor is five years. The names of 12 metro stations of East–West Corridor are mentioned below: 1. Charbagh (underground) 2. Gautam Budh Nagar (underground) 3. Aminabad (underground) 4. Pandeyganj (underground) 5. City Railway Station (underground) 6. Medical Chauraha (underground) 7. Nawazganj (underground) 8. Thakurganj (elevated) 9. Balaganj (elevated) 10. Sarfarazganj (elevated) 11. Musabagh (elevated) 12. Vasant Kunj (elevated) The East-West Corridor of Lucknow Metro from Charbagh to Vasant Kunj will provide connectivity to prominent places of old Lucknow like Aminabad, Chowk, etc. It will also connect other congested areas along its route and provide accessibility to the people of Lucknow. The Charbagh station will act as a junction for both the corridors of Lucknow i.e, North-South Corridor and East-West Corridor. The depot of this corridor will be constructed at Vasant Kunj. The estimated capital cost without taxes for constructing this 11.165 km long corridor in February 2019 was Rs. 3786 crore which has escalated to ` 4264.89 crore. This change in cost is in sync with the current inflation rate as per government guidelines. DPR has been also upgraded with 750 DC traction systems which are being followed in Kanpur and Agra Metro project mainly due to severe OHE flashing problem occurring as a result of metallic wire in kites being faced in Lucknow Metro project.Today, UPMRC has changed the contours of the city and it has made the lives of the people easier. It is connecting schools, colleges, universities, institutions, offices, hospitals, industrial hubs and malls. It’s a matter of pride for us to let you know that UPMRC is in sync with the targets set under the auspices of Gati Shakti campaign. No Freeway to Success

In FY21, the Indian highway network expanded at a daily rate of 37 km, setting a new record. This high more or less continued in the ensuing years, backed by the Ministry of Roads, Transport and Highways (MoRTH) awarding about 12,000 km of national highway projects annually from FY21 through to FY23. But project awarding slowed down to around 8,600 km in FY24 and is expected to have stayed at that level in FY25, observes Aniket Dani, Director – Research, Crisil Intelligence. Slower awards and slower execution go hand in hand. “The execution pace of national highways is estimated ..

Constructive Automation

On most construction sites, the rhythm of progress is measured by the clang of steel, the hum of machinery and the sweat of thousands. But increasingly, new sounds are entering the mix: the quiet efficiency of algorithms, the hum of drones overhead, and the precision of robotic arms at work. Behind the concrete and cables, an invisible force is taking hold: data. It is turning blueprints into living simulations, managing fleets of machines, and helping engineers make decisions before a single brick is laid. This is not the construction of tomorrow; it is the architecture of today – built on ..
