Vipin Sondhi: Indian infra booms with road construction opportunities

Speaking during the launch of a road show on 14th RAHSTA Expo, Vipin Sondhi, Chairman of the RAHSTA Expo Committee, said, “I believe the biggest opportunity in Indian infrastructure lies in road construction, which is evident to everyone. Over the last 10 years, there has been tremendous growth, and this trend is only going to accelerate. Thus, in terms of infrastructure, every stakeholder has an opportunity to contribute for the right reasons. It’s a promising business opportunity and sustainable for decades to come. Ultimately, citizens will be the biggest beneficiaries.”

He added, “The government has consistently prioritised infrastructure development. Even during the Covid-19 period, there was no reduction in focus or allocation for infrastructure projects, and this trend is expected to continue. Within the infrastructure sector, roads receive the highest allocation, and there is also significant progress in execution.”

“The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has constructed 12,349 km of national highways in 2023-24 - the second highest achievement! In 2020-21 a record 13,327 kms had been constructed, the highest so far. The experience of a well-constructed road is no accident but a badly constructed one can cause many,” stated Pratap Padode, Founder, FIRST Construction Council, a pioneering infrastructure-driven council focused on advancing India's infrastructure development.

The 14th RAHSTA Expo will be held from October 9-10, 2024, at Jio Convention Centre, Mumbai. RAHSTA, which stands for Roads and Highways Sustainable Technologies & Advancement, is a dedicated event to the world of road construction equipment, technology, and sustainability.

BMW Industries partners with IOCL for PNG supply at Bokaro plant
