Railway to complete ongoing electrification projects

Union Power Secretary Alok Kumar recently, reviewed the domestic thermal coal evacuation systems along with Vivek Kumar Dewangan, additional Secretary and PL Haranadh, Chairman, Paradip Port Authority (PPA) in Paradip Port. Apart from it he also reviewed the coal supply to power plants and inspected the infrastructure and modernisation projects.

However, he took a look at ongoing projects of railways and directed the railway authorities to complete various ongoing projects like electrification in the new BOT bulb and shifting of IFFCO on Concor’s MMLP. The projects are supposed to be completed by July 2022.

As per reports, Paradip Port has a capacity to unload 41 thermal coal rakes per day and is likely to be increased to 46 rakes per day by July and 57 rakes by October this year.

Moreover, the rail connectivity projects like Sambalpur-Talcher doubling work, quadrupling of Jharpada-Budhapank, and Budhapank-Salegaon besides auto-signaling between Cuttack and Paradip were also reviewed
