A new river port will be developed by India in Bangladesh to ferry heavy machinery, foodgrain and ferry essentials. The government is seeking essential funds to develop the Ashuganj port over river Meghna in Bangladesh. The port will aid transportation of essential items from different parts of the country and abroad. The WAPCOS (Water, Power Consultancy Services Ltd) is preparing a DPR (detailed project report) to develop the port.
