Besides, it also plans to set up deep draft multi-purpose berths at Vadinar, commission 13th cargo berth, develop container terminal on BOT basis.
In the short term, the port plans to adopt lowest cost strategy, retain cargo based on its strength, and adopt a pro-active marketing strategy.
Meanwhile, the port management plans to engage a contractor for the work of transportation of fresh potable water at Cargo Jetty area and supply of fresh potable water at its building in Gandhidham and Kandla.
Kandla Port Trust aims to create adequate infrastructure and adopt competitive tariff as part of its long term strategy to develop the port.
