TNEB to launch Rs 4,000 crore upgradation programme

The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) has formulated a Rs 4,000-crore investment plan to upgrade efficiency under the Restructured-Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme (R-APDRP). The R-APDRP which was launched to upgrade efficiency of transmission and distribution network to bring down system losses. The aggregate technical and commercial loss of power in the state is estimated at around 19 per cent and the objective of the R-APDRP is to bring it down to less than 15 per cent.
