It also provides a high level of acoustic benefit and has undergone rigorous acoustic testing and has attained a Class A absorption rating. It is important to recall that ROCKWOOL" stone wool is inorganic and contains no nutritious substance. Therefore, it will not be attacked by micro organisms. Stone wool will not rot and does not attract vermin. No CFCs, HFCs, HCFCs, or asbestos are used in the manufacture of the company's stone wool products.

Kindly introduce us to your new product.
ThermalRock S is a range of high quality ROCKWOOL" slabs that provide excellent thermal, acoustic and fire benefits combined with our excellent technical assistance and extensive testing. The ThermalRock S range will provide an invaluable resources to all the clients. ThermalRock S is part of our strategy which will add value in our offering to the customers, the most appropriate insulations in the construction, petrochemical, energy, ship building and processing industry. The main applications of ThermalRock S include internal partitions, soffit slabs and façades. It is shrink-wrapped in polyethylene sheets for easy handling, transportation and storage, and is available in different dimensions. This product was created in accordance with the group's -æ4 in 1' principle of fire safety, sustainability, acoustic comfort and durability.

What are the basic raw materials of the product?
Our factories mimic the natural process that occur inside volcanoes, spinning and cooling a lava-like substance in a controlled environment. The raw material  Volcanic rock, basalt, coke -û is a renewable and plentiful natural resource, making ROCKWOOL" stone wool highly sustainable. All ROCKWOOL" stone wool products manufactured by the Group's Indian plant are EUCEB certified and hence, they are bio-soluble fibres. These are proven to be non-carcinogenic and hygienically better than the other conventionally produced mineral wool products in performance.

Kindly mention the various sectors for which this material can be used?
Broadly, it can be used for two sectors industrial and commercial. The industrial sector includes segments such as petrochemicals, power, oil and gas, and cement. The commercial sector refers to the construction and building envelope. Here, it is used in commercial buildings, residential high-rise buildings especially for dry or cavity walls, false ceilings, ventilated facade application, duct wrapping, etc.

In which projects has this material been used in India?
It has been used in many power plants and petrochemical projects in India. Some of the big names are L&T, Reliance, OPAL, etc. Our ROCKWOOL" stone wool products and solutions contribute in improving the process control through energy efficiency in the industrial segment. In the construction segment, the stone wools are used in applications like dry wall, facade applications, duct wrapping, roofing insulation, etc. Stone wool insulation in buildings make them more energy efficient. Some of the big names in the industry using our products include Lodha World Tower, Panchsil projects, Mumbai Metro, Vodafone etc.

How can it be useful for tall buildings?
We foresee big opportunities in the tall buildings segment, for which we are also meeting consultants and architects. We have a technical team in Mumbai and are also receiving a lot of technical support from our group companies such as UK, Denmark.

How do you view the Indian market for your product?
We see a lot of growth opportunities in the construction sector for our product. Most of the recent projects have started using these insulation materials for energy efficiency, acoustic, and fire properties. As our all products and solutions are in line with the -æ4 in 1' principle, we have huge potential in the construction segment.
